Glycolic acid peels in various strengths of 10 %-70%, are geared towards deep down exfoliation of the skin to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles, old acne marks or scars, reduce the look of large pores, and in general is going to vastly improve the tone and texture of uneven skin by stimulating new growth of skin and collagen production.

Concerns: Uneven texture and tone

Why It’s Different: ASDM Beverly Hills Glycolic Acid is a form of AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) that is unbuffered to preserve its medical grade strength but has a low pH level so it’s well tolerated by your skin. The goal with this type of glycolic is to exfoliate dull, dead surface skin cells for a more flawless appearance. You’ll find that this glycolic effectively removes impurities for a clarity in texture that you can see, as this will ultimately make your skin glow with exceptional health. The glycolic solution will also improve skin’s elasticity, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, age spots or hyperpigmentation, and stimulates collagen production for renewed skin that looks young and vibrant.

A healthier looking complexion is the goal with a regimen of glycolic acid because it brightens and evens out the skin tone for an effective chemical peel. Naturally sourced from the best cane sugar in the world is why our glycolic acid is different and better than others you’ll find from other skin care specialists. The smaller molecular size of the glycolic is why it’s going to penetrate the top layers of skin easier, to go down deep, and renew the collagen fibers below the epidermis.

What Glycolic Acid Does: Over time depending on what strength you use, the glycolic acids are going to banish dead skin cells for a reinvigorated complexion that looks more even in tone and texture for a flawless glow. If you are new to using glycolic acid, start with a regimen of the 10 % strength and work your way up to the higher concentrations over time.

After a few months of use (3 months at least), move up to 25-30 %. Then when you have used that for a few additional months, you may advance up to 40-50%, which is a deeper strength that should only be used if you have been using the lower ones before. Finally, we do offer a 70% glycolic acid, which should only be used by those that are very used to this type of deep down chemical exfoliation. This is for someone with years of glycolic acid experience to their regimens.

A 70% solution can quickly reduce the appearance of scars, marks, and is the strongest solution when used the right way. Take care not to misuse, because that can cause redness or severe irritation. This grade of glycolic can also be used on the chest, hands, feet, and back of the body to reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone.

how to use

After cleansing skin, gently pat the surface dry, apply ASDM Beverly Hills Pre-Treatment Peel Pads over entire face, avoiding the eye and lip area. Then you want to follow the directions very carefully on the packaging of the glycolic acid solution.

Apply the peel directly to the skin, wait 1-5 minutes, and then neutralize with the Post Peel Treatment Serum. Mild foaming is expected and you’ll feel a warm tingling all over your skin, which is completely normal. Leave on for a full ten minutes and then rinse well. Follow up with your regular serum and moisturizer routine for the newly exfoliated skin to have the best results.

Make sure that with any AHA regimen, you are protecting your skin from sun damage by wearing an SPF 30-50 daily. This is vital to your skin’s health because glycolic or any other AHA can make your skin more sun sensitive.

More About Ingredients

GLYCOLIC ACID is a naturally occurring AHA acid derived from cane sugar. 99% of the AHAs used in the beauty industry are synthetically produced, but here at ASDM Beverly Hills, our glycolic acid is naturally sourced from cane sugar. Topically applying glycolic acid helps to chemically exfoliate the epidermis, removing dead & dull skin and bringing new skin to the surface. All of our glycolic peels are unbuffered, conserving their high strength and low pH level. For this reason, we strongly suggest starting at 10% and slowly moving up in strength as your skin adjusts to the peel. We carry glycolic acid from 10% to 70%.
